A contemporary artwork by the artist Dereje Shiferaw, titled "Border and Bodies 2025" using mixed media on canvas. In this work a figurative depiction of an African man with a black earring, in striped tank tops and pants, is placed off-centre from the centre of the canvas, surrounded by a blue background. In the upper left, a visa-denied snap, misregistered in red, is placed on a white cloud underneath a house, and swatches of colour can be seen to the right, along with writing and a window which appears to also have a bird flying away.

A contemporary artwork by the artist Dereje Shiferaw, titled "Border and Bodies 2025" using mixed media on canvas. The work is displayed in its white shadow box frame hanging on a grey wall. Meanwhile, a man with a denim jacket from stomach to head is visible; he's admiring the work, contemplating its content, giving us a sense of scale.
