About artwork
Inspired by Claude Monet’s garden in Giverny, Michelle Morrissey’s painting echoes Monet’s fascination with light, colour and the changing rhythms of nature. Layers of textured medium give the surface a tactile, almost sculptural quality, while expressive brushstrokes allow flowers and foliage to emerge and dissolve within the composition. The garden becomes a vibrant, immersive space which is alive with movement, colour and quiet joy.
