by Alma Salgada
Small human figures cultivate, work and play among oversized plants, becoming part of an environment much larger than themselves. Yet within this apparently playful universe, the guaraná fruits resemble open eyes, creating a subtle sense of constant observation.
The work connects the natural world with a contemporary condition: a society in which our movements, habits and identities are increasingly observed through social media and digital systems. Without depicting technology directly, Surveillance transforms the garden itself into a space of watching.
