The body lives because of boundaries, the mind is limitless.
Daniella Wesseling's work stems from a fascination with the working and the power of the mind. She mostly uses translucent materials built up in multiple layers. This allows the eye to focus on the different layers and colour patterns separately that change depending on the viewpoint. The empty space is part of the work- visible versus invisible is a recurring theme. The use of multiple layers links to thought patterns, generations or different time frames falling together. The works show hidden links between past and present and other mixed up dimensions.
She received her Bachelor in Painting at the Art College St. Joost in Breda in the Netherlands. She works in a studio in Rotterdam where she also works as an interactive performer and storyteller. Her work is currently on display at Gallery Art District in Amsterdam and at Dock Gallery in Rotterdam.
