Magdalena Frankowska was born in Poland in 1982, where she did her studies in landscape architecture at the Krakow University of Technology. After graduation, she moved to Ireland where she worked as a landscape architect and graphic designer from 2007 till the end of 2011. Following a return to Krakow for a short while, she then moved to Bordeaux in 2012, where she continued to work in her field. In the meantime, she was part of a local cultural association and she covered cultural events, exhibitions and concerts, as a photographer, and wrote articles for the association Webzine. In 2015, she moved to Lausanne and just few months after, to Haute-Savoie where she gave herself more time for painting. She is strongly inspired by travelling, walks, surrounding landscapes, lakes, mountains, woods, fields and constantly changing light conditions. She is equally drawn by industrial landscapes, especially abandoned and dis-used factories and industrial zones. She paints with watercolours, gouache, acrylic and Chinese ink.
