The “potato” portrait of Alexander Lukashenko – illegitimate president of Belarus, dictator and criminal, who immersed the country into repressions and fear, who supports V. Putin in every way, including war in Ukraine.

“Potato men” – a bit offensive nickname of Belarusians, because of the most famous dish in Belarus, which is potato pancakes. The series of portraits “Potato dictatorship” shows the representatives of the regime as old rotten wrinkled potatoes which should be thrown away in a trash bin of history.

Nina Raydan is an artist and a political migrant from Belarus. After having graduated from  Minsk art college and Belarusian Academy of Arts , Nina struggled for a couple of years living solely on her art but then took on to work as a graphic designer. In 2021  she left her country due to the political persecution and now continues to live and work in Malta.

She uses any media that suits what she is looking to project and it's usually oils, acrylics, aquarelle painting, pencil drawing or original print making like etching, lithography, linocut or woodcut) or video art, etc. At present he is submerged into a political theme, as it is directly related to her present life, although she hopes it is not for long.
