'Levitation' depicts an intimate journey from overcoming the deep-rooted fear of water to the oneness with the sea, a universal cradle where time is perceived as eternity. I didn't aim at achieving realism of the subject but realism of an emotion, letting the pastels lead my hand to create expressive marks while rendering the air bubbles and light reflections at the bottom of the sea.   I used soft pastels of the highest quality by the British company UNISON.
