JOHN PAUL DAVID - Others 4
by John Paul David
- 20cm by 20cm
- Graphite on paper
"Others" is a collection of graphite drawings that John Paul considers as his sub-brand or others, hence the title. It is basically about misunderstood and oppressed creatures. Inspired by our seemingly built-in or fixed subjective exposition of external beauty delineated by our flawed human perception which always fails to see or grasp what's beyond.

John Paul David is an emerging artist from Bataan, Philippines. He works predominantly in graphite. He's been a portrait artist since he was 16 and was inspired by Northern Renaissance and Academic paintings but later became more interested in idealistic and surrealistic composition of his common subject matter which portray figure and portrait drawings of women. He considers his works as a response to what he calls "The pain industry".
